NKYSoftball.com/Angilo's Rally Stuns Blitz for
"A/B" Spring Tune-up Title at Pastime Park
In game one NKY came out against the Riverhawks(mostly J-Law Contracting) and put up a 40-12 mercy rule of the NKY club. In game two we defeated the 2002 "A" Metro runner-up Raw Talent 30-18. Game three we ran into one of the top "A" teams in the nation, Perkins Roofing/TPS, Perk came away with a 16-6 win. That put us in 2nd place in round robin play. Going into the elimination bracket we opened up with Team Extreme, who just missed knocking off K&G/Watanabe 29-28. We needed a big 7th inning to escape with a 13-12 win. In game five we had a rematch with Raw Talet, we mercy ruled the Cincinnati entry 22-10. That put us in the finals against the Blitz, who had just upset Perkins/TPS 24-22 in 8 innings. We also needed a come from behind 7th to win this one 19-18. We were lead by Craig Johnson's perfect day at the plate, 21 for 21 1.000, Roger Drake batted .667 and hit 6 HR's with 20 RBI's to lead us in those departments. This was a good first tourney and hopefully this will help us get ready for the rigorous "B" schedule that we will play this season.
