Record 27 teams enter USSSA World Series Events
2002 was a great season for softball in our area, a record number of area teams competed in the USSSA World Series from class "D" thru "A". 27 total area teams went on to their respective USSSA World's. In class "D" Hamilton's/Some Place Else, Schmidt Plumbing Saints, Team Bring It, Total Package Express, Kidwell, O'Charley's/MJM, & Ft. Mitchell Sports Bar/Nazdar. In class "C" Basebandits, Design Concepts Plus, Greene's Flower Shoppe, Paradise Sports/Mizuno, Nasty Boys/Worth, Angilo's Pizza/Dixon Trucking/Cherry Grove Lanes, House Rules/Crosley's Sports Bar, Multi-Serve/Smitty's Garage. In Class "B" Freeze Concrete/Walnut Homes, EMR/Worth, Springdale Cleaners, KY Chiropractic, OA Softball, Hamilton's/Plant Detail, Lucke Homes/Worth, Alpine Mortgage/Mizuno, Western Hills Window/TPS, Stafford Sales. In CLass "A" Perkins Roofing/Watanabe Optical/TPS, Team AH, & Cooper Sports/Worth.
Also local product Timmy Cocco of Chase/Easton won the MVP of the USSSA "Super Major" World Series in Disney World.
